Your place in the guide

What travellers hear and read about your place. Within the limits below, in your words, passed through our editor and back to you to approve. We describe; we do not sell. Nothing is charged.

Nothing saved yet — they are kept when you build a drive.

Nothing yet — tap Improve on any stop in a drive.

Admins

Admins can re-pin a stop from the road and replace its picture, from inside any guide. Open a guide with ?admin=1 on the address and sign in there once.

Roles

One sign-in for everybody; what a person can do afterwards comes from their roles. User is everyone. Docent opens the curating workbench on the drives they built or were given. Admin can do all of it, on every drive.

Docents

A docent curates one drive: they rewrite what each stop says, search for and choose its pictures, and ask the assistant to look things up. They are not admins — they cannot touch any other drive or anything on the site. Their words are kept apart from the built route, so a rebuild never wipes them, and an edit tied to a place improves every drive that passes it.

Partners

A partner is invited by email, never from the site. Pick the drive and the stop, and the invitation goes to that address with the link that opens their editor.

Sent in by Friends

Waiting for a look. Approving a picture puts it on the stop with the sender's credit and rebuilds the drive; approving a place adds it to the gazetteer for that drive; a correction or story is kept for the editor.

Every drive anybody has built

All of them, newest first, whoever made it. The account page already showed a person their own; this is the roll. A drive with no file behind it is marked, and a route file with nobody attached to it is listed at the foot.

Accounts

Everyone with an account. A reset link goes to their own address; switching an account off signs it out everywhere and refuses sign-in until it is switched on again.
